Gingerol is the main bioactive compound in ginger, and it’s responsible for many of ginger’s potential medicinal properties. Gingerol benefits gastrointestinal motility ― the rate at which food exits the stomach and continues along the digestive process. Eating ginger encourages efficient digestion, so food doesn’t linger as long in the gut. Ginger provides relief from discomforts of nausea by encouraging stomach emptying. For generations, women have praised the power of ginger to ease “morning sickness” and other queasiness associated with pregnancy. Eating ginger can cut down on fermentation, constipation and other causes of bloating and intestinal gas. Gingerol has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, according to research. One scientific review in 2019 concluded that ginger supplementation significantly reduced body weight, the waist-hip ratio, and the hip ratio in people with overweight or obesity. Additionally, there is evidence that ginger consumption significantly reduces “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and increases “good” cholesterol (HDL), and also lowers blood sugar levels for people with type 2 diabetes. Known health benefits of ginger are as listed: soothes nausea, aids digestion, eases gas and diarrhea, reduces inflammation, decreases fever, lowers blood sugar, lowers cholesterol, lowers blood pressure, improves fertility, helps heal infections like the common cold, relieves pain from menstrual cramps, migraines, and arthritis.

About Product

The finely ground rhizome — naturally dried, free from additives, and rich in aromatic oils — delivers a warm, spicy kick with citrusy and peppery notes, plus a pleasant fiery zest. Originating from Southeast Asia and hand-harvested from the Zingiber officinale plant, Aroma’J Ground Ginger offers purity, warmth, and versatility in every pinch — perfect for gingerbread ANZAC biscuits, sticky date pudding, and a warming cup of fresh ginger tea.

Other Details

Ginger harvesting is done simply by lifting the rhizomes from the soil, cleansing them, and drying them in the sun. The dried ginger rhizomes are irregular in shape, branched or palmate. Their colour varies from dark yellow through light brown to pale buff. Ginger may be unscraped (with all of its cork layer), partly scraped, or scraped or peeled (with all of its cork, epidermis, and hypodermis removed).
